When performing administrative tasks to investigate an issue, it is sometimes necessary to scope to a specific OpenStack Project.
- Platform9 Managed OpenStack - All Versions
- If the customer provided the Project name, not the UUID, locate the UUID.
$ openstack project list | grep Support
| 6fdc138d47d14dccb46296c693247fbf | Support |
- Copy the Project UUID from the output in Step #1 and paste into the following command after the
--projectflag. This will add the 'admin' role to the 'email@example.com' user while scoped to Project UUID 6fdc138d47d14dccb46296c693247fbf.
$ openstack role add --user firstname.lastname@example.org --project 6fdc138d47d14dccb46296c693247fbf admin
- Log in to the UI with the user specified in Step #2 and click the "Tenant:" drop-down menu. The successful role addition will cause the new Tenant (aka Project), in this case, "Support," to be listed for selection here.
